Caloric Irrigators - Cooling AirStar
The Cooling AirStar caloric irrigator delivers a precisely controlled temperature and flow rate of cold, cool or warm air to evaluate the horizontal semicircular canal during caloric testing. In less than a minute from turning on the Cooling AirStar, the temperature stabilizes at the desired setting as indicated on a digital display. The Cooling AirStar caloric irrigator utilizes a lighted otoscope hand piece. The otoscope hand piece features replaceable tips, a magnifying lens and a cool, bright white LED light pipe for illuminating the tympanic membrane (TM) without obstructing the airflow or the view of the TM. Cooling Air Caloric Requirements The Cooling AirStar uses a water tank to lower the temperature of the air to a minimum of 46°F (8°C), thereby eliminating ambient temperature requirements.
