The first two days of this course are
designed to review the practical performance and principles
of balance assessment and management with emphasis on
interpretation. This is an intermediate to advanced course,
directed at otolaryngologists, neurologists, audiologists,
physical therapists and others interested in vestibular
testing. Examples of test abnormalities will be discussed
and cases used to illustrate how to apply the test results
to achieve successful treatment strategies.
The third day will focus on testing
techniques with hands-on instruction.
Attendees are encouraged to attend either or both
sessions.

Timothy Hain, M.D.

Dr. Hain is board-certified in
Neurology. His clinical practice includes evaluating and
treating dizzy individuals while he is particularly
interested in BPPV and vestibular ototoxicity. Dr. Hain
has also been selected to be included in the "Best
Doctors in America" on several occasions.
Alan Desmond, Au.D.
Doctor of Audiology Director Blue
Ridge Hearing and Balance Clinic Princeton &
Bluefield, WV
Dr. Desmond is the founder of the Blue
Ridge Hearing and Balance Clinic. He is author of
numerous publications related to the field of audiology,
dizziness, balance disorders and vestibular
rehabilitation. His text book "Vestibular Function:
Evaluation and Treatment" released in 2004 has been
a bestseller ever since.
Mark Haehn
Micromedical Technologies, Inc.
Mark has 15 years experience in
vestibular testing. Prior to working for Micromedical
Technologies, Inc. Mark practiced at Cleveland Clinic
under the direction of Mohammed Hamid, M.D., Ph.D.; John
Oas, M.D.; and Judith White, M.D. Mark's experience
includes the testing of over 5000 dizzy patients.
